Found this by accident, and it looks really funny. "Super" is a IFC superhero movie, where a guy makes himself into a laughable, low budget superhero after his girlfriend leaves him for another guy over completely typical reasons. The movie seems to be just like "Kick Ass" in how it starts out, but does what Kick Ass failed to do - stay grounded.
I personally thought Kick Ass was one of the worst movies of the decade, when it was coming to theater I thought it was interesting, then stupid, then really stupid, Still stupid despite reviews of it being good. then I saw it because of friend of mine loved it, saw it, then was sooo sore about spending 10 bucks on it, 2 weeks after seeing it. horrible movie, Stupid Villains, and Nick Cage and his daughter were crazy (in that totally stupid Glenn Beck sort of way).
Well lets hope Super stays grounded with the one super hero acting silly and everybody else acting normal and confused to see a grown man acting like an ass. Kevin Bacon who is the "other man / villain" shouts at the hero (Rainn Wilson) "...she loves me more because she finds me INTERESTING!!"
Hopefully it won't turn out like Kick Ass.
